Ustad Rashid Khan, one of the most popular artists of Indian classical music, has passed away. He was 56 at the time of death. Rashid Kahn was hospitalized for several days. He was suffering from prostate cancer for the past few years and was responding to treatment.

Recently, he had a brain hemorrhage (stroke). From there the situation started to deteriorate. The artist was admitted to a hospital in South Kolkata. He died there on Tuesday (January 9) at 3:45 pm. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. There, he came out of the hospital in search of the artist.

Standing there, he told the press, "If the doctors have something to say, then I will say it." His (Ustad Rashid Khan) son is here. He sings well.''

After that, the doctor said, “The infection was caused by staying in the hospital for so long. He has to be sent to ventilation. I could not 'revive' him. He died at 3:45.
