The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) is working to correct errors found in new textbooks for the academic year 2024 and the revised version will be sent to schools soon.

The NCTB announced this in a press release signed by Chairman Prof Md Farhadul Islam on Tuesday.

The statement says the existing textbooks will be evaluated reasonably, and the revisions will be sent to educational institutions, students, and the media very soon.

It further added that when discussions and criticisms began regarding various issues in the textbook, both in favor and against, the ministry said that any confusions would be addressed and corrected.

Following the ministry's directive, the NCTB issued a notice on the first day of the year, identifying mistakes and inconsistencies in the textbooks and called for feedback from relevant parties. After reviewing these comments, the NCTB announced on Tuesday that corrections would be made promptly.

It says the ministry is giving serious consideration to the issues identified during the objective discussion and thorough review of the NCTB 2024 book.

On January 1, after distributing textbooks, the ministry had issued a press release inviting all stakeholders to submit any suggestions they might have about the textbooks. The ministry has received a positive response to this request.
