BNP Leader Mirza Abbas Shown Arrested In 9 More Cases

Mirza Abbas, a member of the standing committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has recently been arrested in nine additional cases.

Two Metropolitan Magistrate Courts in Dhaka issued separate arrest orders for him on Thursday.

The confirmation of these developments was provided to the media by Abbas's lawyer, Mohi Uddin.

This brings the total number of cases against Abbas to 11, stemming from the tumultuous events of October 28, 2023.

He was taken into custody from his Shahjahanpur residence on October 31 and formally arrested in a case filed under the Sabotage and Explosive Substances Act at Shahjahanpur police station in the capital.

Following a five-day remand, on November 1, a Dhaka court remanded him to jail.
