Dengue Claims 14 Lives In 30 Days

At least 14 dengue patients died across the country in the last 30 days. Eight of them were from Dhaka and the rest were from outside the capital.

Of them, nine victims were female and five were male. A total of 1,055 dengue cases were reported this year.

A press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter on Thursday (February 1).

At least 358 dengue patients were hospitalised in January month in Dhaka while 697 were reported outside of the capital, according to data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 928 patients have so far been released from hospitals across the country last month. The overall mortality rate is 1.3 percent.
