Famous writer and columnist Mohammad Badrul Ahsan’s fourth death anniversary is today. He served The Daily Star for many years as a weekly columnist. Badrul Ahsan was the publisher and editor of the now-defunct weekly magazine, ''First News''.

He also served for a long time with Standard Chartered Bank and was also stationed in Dhaka and Dubai. As a passionate writer, he left his banking career to publish the country's first and only news magazine, "First News" in 2010 which was owned by Radiant Publications Limited.

Badrul Ahsan, the incomparable weekly author of "Cross Talk" in The Daily Star, started writing his column in 2000. Also, he wrote several books including "Grameen Bank and Muhammad Yunus" and "In Search of a Nation" published by Mowla Brothers.

At the same time, "A Good Man in the Woods and Other Essays", "Crosstalk Complete" and "The Parallax View" were being published by The University Press Limited. Those books were marked popular by the readers.
