BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui said that Myanmar is ready to take back the soldiers who have taken refuge in Bangladesh.

He said this during a press briefing after visiting the Tumbru and Ghumdhum border areas on Wednesday (February 7).

Meanwhile, the BGB Director General said that Myanmar is ready to take back BGP members and others who have taken refuge, Bangladesh has requested to repatriate them as soon as possible.

BGB Director General said, "this is Myanmar's internal conflict. Bangladesh is also affected. We do not want any more deaths, BGB will keep the border safe with utmost patience."

Meanwhile, gunshots were heard again across the Ghumdhum border since morning. Many people have left the area due to ongoing tension at the border. Locals have taken shelter in shelters fearing bullets and mortars. Men are guarding the house keeping women and children in shelters.
