Foreign Min Hasan Mahmud At New Delhi On 3-Day Visit

Dr Hasan Mahmud went to India on his first bilateral visit as Foreign Minister. He went to New Delhi on a three-day visit at the invitation of Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

He left Dhaka for Delhi by air on Tuesday night (February 6).

Earlier, the foreign minister said to reporters' questions that apart from Jaishankar, he is scheduled to have a meeting with India's Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

The official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Hasan Mahmud will go directly to Delhi from Dhaka but will return via Kolkata. He will attend the press conference and reception organized by the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata.

On the other hand, India's Ministry of External Affairs says that in the meeting, both foreign ministers will review the progress of comprehensive bilateral relations and fix the agenda for future engagement.

Along with these issues, the situation in Myanmar, the neighbor of both countries, will naturally be discussed, Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud said.
