Showbiz stars are desperate to become MPs in the reserved women's seat of the 12th National Parliament. In that run, on Tuesday (January 6), several stars bought party nomination forms for the Awami League.
Actresses Apu Biswas, Nipun Akhter, Sohana Saba, Shahanur, Urmila Srabanti Kar, and Meher Afroz Shaon collected the party nomination form from the central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in Gulistan from 10 am on Tuesday (6 February).
According to the media, Apu Biswas collected the nomination papers from the party office of the Awami League located in Gulistan of the capital on Tuesday (February 6) at 11 o'clock.
At that time she said, "I bought nomination papers from Bogra district of Rajshahi division. People in my area have helped me a lot. Keep praying, so that I can stand by the people of the area. And let us work to fulfill the dream of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina."
Actress Nipun Akhter has bought Awami League's party nomination form for the reserved women's seat. She also took Riaz with her there.
Meanwhile, actress Sohana Saba collected the nomination form from the second floor of the central office of Awami League located on Bangabandhu Avenue around 10:30 am.
After collecting the form, Sohana Saba said, "My father is a brave freedom fighter. He participated in the liberation war at the age of 13. He was not only Awami League supporter, he was a patriot. When you think about the country, you have to think about Awami League."
She further said, "there is no other way. We are very lucky that Awami League has been in power for 15 consecutive years, InshAllah it will continue for another five years. That's why I want to be a candidate from Awami League."
Actress Syeda Kamrun Nahar Shahnur bought Awami League's party nomination form for the reserved women's seat in the 12th National Parliament.
She bought the nomination papers from the central office of Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue after 11 am on Tuesday (February 6).
After collecting the nomination form, Shahnur said, "I am a child of freedom fighter family. I have been associated with the 'Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance' for a long time. I was also active in the field against the opposition's arson and terrorism. I am also involved in social work. If Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina nominates me, I want to work according to her words. He also said that he wants to work for women."
Meher Afroz Shaon, the wife of the late fiction writer Humayun Ahmed, has collected the party nomination form of Awami League from Mymensingh Division for the reserved seat for women in the 12th National Assembly.
She collected the form from the second floor of the party's central office at Bangabandhu Avenue on Tuesday (February 6) around 3 pm.
Urmila Sravanti Kar bought the nomination form. She said, "I have a long political journey. Everyone more or less knows that I have been serving as the Cultural Affairs Secretary of the Central Women's Affairs Organization of Awami League. After being involved in field politics for a long time, I collected nominations for reserved seats."
