Edible Oil Price Drops By Tk10 Per Litre

The government has reduced the price of edible oil. This will be effective from March 1. The decision was made at a meeting of the Task Force on Food Prices and Market Conditions.

The meeting was held in the conference room of the Ministry of Commerce today (Tuesday, February 20). At the end of the meeting, Commerce Minister Ahasanul Islam Titu informed journalists about this information.

The Commerce Minister said that the price of bottled edible soybean oil has been reduced by Tk 10 per liter and fixed at Tk 163. And, open oil at Tk 149. He said that this price will be effective from March 1. Earlier, on September 9 last year, the price of edible oil was reduced by Tk 5 per liter to Tk 169.

As a trading corporation of Bangladesh (Trading Corporation of Bangladesh), the price of bottled edible oil in the country's market was sold for Tk 170 to Tk 173 per liter on Sunday (February 18). A year ago, this price was Tk 180 to Tk 185.
