With just a few days remaining until the commencement of the sacred month of Ramadan, preparations are underway across Muslim nations worldwide. During this holy period, Muslims observe fasting from dawn to dusk, refraining from food and drink until the evening when they break their fast with Iftar.

The start of Ramadan this year is anticipated to fall around March 11, with fasting durations varying across different countries due to their geographical locations.

It is projected that fasting periods will range from 12 to 18 hours this year. For instance, Muslims in Bangladesh may fast for approximately 14 hours, while those in around ten countries, such as Greenland, Iceland, Finland, Scotland, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Spain, might observe fasts lasting between 15 to 18 hours. Conversely, countries in Africa and Asia will experience shorter fasting periods.

In countries like New Zealand, Chile, Kenya, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, Muslims are expected to fast for about 12 to 14 hours. Additionally, individuals in the Middle East and Gulf region are likely to observe fasting periods lasting from 13 to 15 hours this year.
