Three Die In Sylhet Road Crash

Three people died and seven were injured in a collision between a pickup van and a human hauler on Sylhet-Tamabil highway in Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mongli Patra, 50, daughter of Santosh Patra of Paschim Thakur Mati village of the upazila, Suchita Patra, 35, wife of Push Patra, and their five-month-old child.

Three of the injured were identified as Push Patra, 40, son of Santosh Patra, Zidan Patra, 18, son of Push Patra, and 5-year-old daughter of Push Patra.

According to locals, the cow-laden pickup van collided with Mokampunji-bound human hauler, leaving two people dead on the spot and seven others injured. The child died at a hospital.

Later, locals rescued the injured and sent them to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, said Jaintapur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tajul Islam.
