In the case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) concerning the Hallmark scam, the court sentenced the company's managing director Md. Tanvir Mahmud, and his wife Jasmine Islam, the group's chairman, to life imprisonment.

Judge Md. Abul Kashem of Dhaka's Special Judge Court-1 announced the verdict on Tuesday (March 19).

After hearing the case's arguments on January 28, the court fixed the judgment date on February 28. However, on that day, the case was taken to court from the judgment and when the ACC applied for the testimony of two more witnesses, the court granted it.

Then the court accepted the testimony of two magistrates. Last March 12, after the presentation of arguments by the ACC and the accused, the judgment date was fixed on March 19.
