Joe Lieberman, the former Senator from Connecticut and Democratic Party's 2000 vice presidential nominee, passed away in New York City at the age of 82. Lieberman served in the upper chamber from 1989 to 2013 and succumbed to complications from a fall, as confirmed by his family.

"His beloved wife, Hadassah, and members of his family were with him as he passed," stated his family, highlighting Lieberman's enduring love for God, family, and country. Notably, Lieberman made history as Al Gore's running mate in 2000, becoming the first Jewish candidate on a major party ticket.

Despite his Democratic affiliation, Lieberman diverged on several issues, notably supporting the Iraq War and winning his final term as an independent in 2006. Funeral arrangements include a service at Congregation Agudath Sholom in his hometown of Stamford, with a memorial service to follow._Geo News
