Awami League's general secretary Obaidul Quader has stated that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is organizing iftar parties at big hotels, despite directives from Awami League leaders to distribute iftar among the public instead. He accused the BNP of character assassination of the Awami League and spreading falsehoods at their iftar parties.

On Friday (March 29th), at an iftar and Eid gift distribution event organized by the central office of the Awami League's Relief and Social Welfare Subcommittee, Quader made these remarks.

Quader alleged that BNP leaders have severed ties with Pakistan to curry favor with Delhi's administration. He emphasized that the Awami League's consciousness and heart belong to Bangladesh, not to any foreign power.

He criticized the BNP for indulging in darkness all around and accused them of trying to overshadow Sheikh Hasina's development-oriented politics. Quader claimed that BNP orchestrated election conspiracies and continues to spread divisive rhetoric even after their failures, subjecting their activists to repression.

Quader also urged Mirza Fakhrul to refrain from falsehoods. He warned that their politics of deceit is becoming increasingly isolated as no one is willing to accept it. Despite global crises, Bangladesh's people continue to fare well due to Sheikh Hasina's adept leadership, he added.
