LPG Price Cut By Tk 40

The price of 12kg cylinders of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) has been cut by Tk 40 at the consumer level. A 12kg cylinder will now cost Tk 1,442, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced in a circular on Wednesday (April 3).

The new price goes into effect from 6pm today. 

Meanwhile, the price of gas used in vehicles has also been slashed to Tk 66.21 per litre.  On March 3, the price of LPG was increased at the consumer level for the eighth consecutive month. Earlier on February 4, the price of LPG was increased by Tk 41 to Tk 1,474.

On January 2, it was increased by Tk 29 to Tk 1,433. 

In 2023, LPG and autogas prices were slashed five times and hiked seven times. The prices decreased in January, March, April, June and July last year and went up in the remaining months.
