Countries Celebrating Holy Eid-ul-Fitr Today
Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest festivals for Muslim pilgrims, is being celebrated on Wednesday (April 10) in different countries of the world, including the Middle Eastern country of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Indonesia in Southeast Asia, depending on the moon sighting for the Arabic month of Shawwal. The Muslims of these countries offer Eid prayers with great enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, besides Saudi Arabia-UAE, Eid is being celebrated today in the rest of the Middle East countries including Malaysia, Qatar, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine.
Last year, Oman celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr a day later than other countries in the Middle East, however, this year, the country will celebrate Eid in line with Saudi Arabia. Muslims in North Africa including Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, and Sudan are also celebrating Eid today.
Australia is the first in the world to announce this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr. Muslim pilgrims in the country are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday. The US, UK, Canada, Turkey, and Iran are also celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday. Eid will be on Wednesday in other countries in Europe and America.
The moon of the holy month of Shawwal has been sighted in three states of India. However, the moon was not seen in most parts of the country, including Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Muslim-dominated country of South Asia, Pakistan, also saw the moon of the holy month of Shawwal on Tuesday. The moon is seen in the western sky in different parts of the country. As a result, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated there today, Wednesday.
The moon of Shawwal was seen in Pakistan and some parts of India but it was not seen in Bangladesh. As a result, the worshipers of Bangladesh will observe 30 fasts this Ramadan and will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday (April 11).
