14-km Alpona In Kishoreganj To Set world Record

A 14-km road in the Haor region in Kishoreganj is being painted on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh is going to take an attempt to set a world record. 

The initiative named “Baishakh 1431 in Alpona” has been taken to uphold the Bengali culture of painting patterns and motifs. 

More than 700 volunteers began painting the Alpona on Friday. Former cultural affairs minister and sitting lawmaker Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the initiative as the chief guest at Mithamoin Zero Point. 

Asiatic Experiential Marketing Limited, Banglalink Digital Communications Limited and Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited jointly organized the program.

This street painting will be unveiled on Sunday when the nation will celebrate the Bangla new year. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak will attend the program as the chief guest in Mithamoin. 

The organizers said this endeavour is an attempt to present Bengali culture to the world.
