Padma Bridge Toll Collection Crosses 14Crores On

From April 9 to April 13 during the public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr and Bangla New Year, a total of 46,553 vehicles crossed the Padma Bridge. As for these huge vehicles crossing over the bridge in these five days, toll collection at the Mawa and Zajira ends of the bridge has amounted to Tk14,60,52,700. 

According to information received from the Bridges Division on Monday, the number of vehicles crossing the Padma Bridge this Eid has decreased compared to last year. 

At the same time, the amount of toll collection has also decreased.

During last year’s Eid-ul-Fitr, a total of 1,63,778 vehicles crossed the bridge from April 20 to April 24. Toll collection was Tk14,61,66,550. 

Hence, the number of vehicles decreased by 17,225 this year, while the amount of toll decreased by Tk1,13,850.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally inaugurated the bridge on June 25 last year and it was opened to traffic the next morning.
