DU Student Drowns At University Swimming Pool

A student of Dhaka University drowned while swimming at the swimming pool of the university’s physical education centre here this afternoon.

The deceased Shoad Haque (19) was a first-year student of the university's Philosophy Department and also a resident student of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall. 

“Soon after finding him unconscious, the fellow students took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty physicians declared him dead at 2:00pm”, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost Md Bachchu Mia told BSS.

  The body has been kept at the morgue of DMCH for autopsy and has been reported to the concerned police station, he added. 

Two eyewitnesses Sohag and Sagor, who were present on the spot, said they went to the swimming pool due to the excessive heat._BSS
