Schools, Madrasas Of 25 Districts To Remain Closed On Saturday

´╗┐Due to the intense heatwave, secondary schools, madrasas, and vocational educational institutions will remain closed in 25 districts of the country on the coming Saturday (May 4).

On Friday (May 3rd) afternoon, the Ministry of Education's Information and Public Relations Officer M A Khayer issued a notice informing about this.

According to the notice, due to the ongoing heatwave in the country, based on the weather forecast of the Meteorological Department, all secondary schools, colleges, madrasas, and vocational educational institutions in the districts of Khulna and Rajshahi divisions, Dhaka and Tangail districts of Dhaka division, Chandpur district of Chittagong division, and Rangpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, and Dinajpur districts of Rangpur division will remain closed on the coming Saturday (May 4th).

Earlier, on Thursday (May 2nd), in a notice issued by the Ministry of Education, closures of educational institutions in various districts due to the heatwave were announced. Until Thursday, the High Court had ordered the closure of educational institutions. Friday (May 3rd) is a weekly holiday.

In this context, it was planned to reopen all educational institutions across the country after the end of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. However, on April 20th, due to the intense heatwave, the Primary and Mass Education Ministry and all schools, colleges, madrasas, and vocational educational institutions under the Ministry of Education announced closures.
