Govt Knows Nothing About Benazir's Travel Abroad: Quader

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said in response to a question about former police IGP Benazir Ahmed's travel abroad, the court will look into the matter of arresting former IGP Benazir Ahmed. We are not aware of his going abroad.

He asked this question in a press conference called at the political office of the Awami League president in Dhanmondi today, Friday (May 31).

Obaidul Quader said, we have been holding elections regularly. There is no perfect democracy anywhere. But close to perfect. We have proved that the Prime Minister is sincere about this.

Questioning the advocates of democracy who talk about democracy in Bangladesh, Awami League General Secretary said, Congo, Haiti, Rwanda do not have to answer for democracy today, why don't they ask?

He also said that in 2024, elections will be held in 64 countries of the world, including Bangladesh. Among them, elections are almost over in America in November, in the United Kingdom in July, and in India.

Obaidul Quader said that those who claim to be advocates of democracy and human rights in the world, 45 men and women were killed in one day in an offensive in Rafah. The whole world even condemned the European Union. Rafah has not crossed the redline yet, says the security adviser to Humanity Advocates. So where are human rights?

Obaidul Quader said, BNP took democracy to the brink of destruction, they do not obey the bullies of democracy. Awami League has been holding regular elections to protect the continuity of democracy. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is sincere about democracy.
