Three members of a family are feared dead as a large chunk of earth collapsed on a house in Chamelibag residential area in Sylhet city on Monday morning. The members of the same family lived in Islampur's Chamelibagh in Ward No. 35 of Sylhet City Corporation. 

This incident happened around 9 am on Monday. The identities of the missing were not immediately known. The fire service is working to rescue the missing people.
Members of the fire service and civil defence along with police are conducting rescue operations.

Meanwhile Jahangir Alam, Councilor of Ward No. 35 of Sylhet City Corporation, said that six members of the same family were crushed under the landslide in the Chamelibag area. Among them, one brother, his wife, and his daughter were rescued. The other brother and his wife and children have remained missing. Fire service, police, and local people are trying to rescue the injured.

Officer-in-charge of Shahporan police station Mohammad Harunur Rashid Chowdhury said on information a police team rushed to the spot around 8:00am and is trying to rescue them.

Sylhet has been experiencing heavy downpour for the past few days while several areas of the district have already been flooded.
