Every year, the traffic on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway increases significantly before both Eid festivals compared to normal times. However, this year has not seen an exception to this trend. The toll collectors on the Bangabandhu Bridge face the highest pressure to collect tolls, often enduring challenging conditions, including adverse weather.

This year, the record-breaking traffic has resulted in substantial toll collection on the Bangabandhu Bridge. It has been reported that 40,906 vehicles crossed the bridge in the past 24 hours, resulting in toll collection amounting to 3,21,97,300 Bangladeshi Taka (approximately 3.21 crore BDT).

Friday morning (June 14), the supervising engineer at the Bangabandhu Bridge site office, Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, confirmed this information. He mentioned that from Wednesday midnight to Thursday midnight, 40,906 vehicles had crossed the bridge, generating a toll collection of 3,21,97,300 BDT.

Specifically, on the eastern side towards Tangail, 22,645 vehicles crossed, contributing to a toll collection of 1,58,81,400 BDT. On the western side towards Sirajganj, 18,261 vehicles crossed, with a toll collection of 1,63,15,900 BDT.
