Former Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Asaduzzaman Mia left the country with his wife. They went to America last week. He also built various properties in that country and invested in various sectors. Besides, their younger son Asif Mahadeen is studying there.

Recently, the news of Asaduzzaman and his family’s huge wealth came to light. After that, discussion and criticism started across the country. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) may begin an investigation into his assets after the Eid-ul-Azha holiday. However, he already left the country.

In this regard, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Commissioner Zahurul Haque told the media that the news of Asaduzzaman Mia’s wealth disclosure did not come to his attention. If the ex-police officer is found to have assets outside of his known income, ACC will take action.

Khurshid Alam Khan, another lawyer of the organization, said that they will decide on the search after the holiday. The senior lawyer also commented that due to such activities of the high-ranking police officers, a clean-up operation has become necessary in the force.
