Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) Jisanul Haque has been suspended for disclosing the personal information of DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia. Jisanul Haque has been attached to the Rangpur Range DIG office in this incident. Before this, he was working in the GMP LIC.

This information is obtained in a notification signed by Md. Jahangir Alam, secretary of the Public Safety Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday. The issue came up on Monday (June 24).

The home ministry notification stated that the allegations of indulging in anti-disciplinary activities against ADC Jisanul Haque -- have been prima facie substantiated under Section 39(1) of the Public Service Act, 2018 and the Public Servants (Disciplinary and Appeal) Act, 2018. As per 12(1) thereof, suspension from Government service was considered expedient and he was suspended from Government service.

On June 19, the police headquarters sent a letter to the Public Safety Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs recommending the temporary suspension of Jisanul Haque. It also recommended taking departmental action against him.

The letter said that on June 12, the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) found a post on Jawad Nirjhar’s Facebook ID about former DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia. A link to a Telegram channel named “Jawad Nirjhar” is quoted in the comment section of that post.

On entering the Telegram channel, a Telegram post containing the ESAF form of former DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia was found at 7:56 pm that day. On QR code review, the ESAF is downloaded from the NIP server of NTMC, LIC Branch, Gazipur Metropolitan Police Headquarters from the ID of ASI Md. Arif Hossain.

The letter also said that the inquiry report submitted by GMP DB (South) Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan showed that on February 12, Jisanul Haque sent a message on the private WhatsApp of SI Parimal Chandra Das, working in the LIC branch, asking for the NID of Asaduzzaman Mia from his official WhatsApp mobile number.

On receiving the message, ASI Md Arif Hossain on duty at LIC downloaded the ESAF from his NIP ID and sent it to the WhatsApp number of SI Parimal Chandra Das through the WhatsApp at 8:39 pm that day.

It is said that the next day Parimal Chandra Das sent it on the WhatsApp of Jisanul Haque’s official mobile number. That login is also available in the register maintained at LIC of GMP. Collecting sensitive information without government purpose is considered unprofessional conduct and unethical practice.

In this situation, subject to sending the report containing the allegations raised against Jisanul Haque, the said officer was temporarily suspended from service and attached to the Rangpur Range DIG office and requested to take departmental action.
