Dhaka-Ctg Highway Blocked By Students

The agitated students have blocked Dhaka-Chattogram highway in protest attack on them and cancellation of quota in government jobs.

The protesters blocked the road around 11:00 am and took position at Kazla bus stand. The blockade due to the protest, caused a severe traffic jam on several kilometres of the highway.

Wari zone ADC Masudur Rahman Monir rushed to the spot and requested the students to keep the traffic movement normal.

Mahtab, a student of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College, said we have come to press our demand. We have come here to protest against the attack on my brothers and sisters.

Meanwhile, police forces were seen on both sides of the road to avert any kinds of untoward incidents.

On the other hand, students from BRAC University took position on Merul Badda road and blocked the street around 10:00 am.

Badda police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Yeasin said additional police forces were deployed in the area.
