Students Block Dhaka-Rajshahi Highway

The students of Rajshahi University (RU) blocked the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway on Monday to press home their nine-point demand including proper investigation and trial for those responsible for the deaths during the last Quota Reform movements.

They started their programme at around 12:00 noon from in front of main entrance of the university. 

Then, they blocked the highway with chanting various slogans like "Shame, Shame", "Students action, direct action", "Why are our brothers are dying?  Authorities must answer", and "We want justice", etc.

Earlier, students gathered there from various places. 

The students said they paraded different roads with a procession adjacent to the campus and then staged demonstrations.

They said they would continue their movement until their demands are met.

Meanwhile, the BGB and police are on high alert. Members of law enforcement agencies were seen at various points in the city.
