BFIU Orders To Freeze Accounts Of Hasan Mahmud, Family

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), a wing of Bangladesh Bank, has asked banks across the country to freeze all accounts held by former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud and his family members.

A senior official from the anti-money laundering agency confirmed the matter to journalists on Sunday.

The BFIU ordered all banks and financial institutions to block any withdrawals from the individual or business accounts of Hasan Mahmud, his wife Nuran Fatema, and their daughter Nafisa Jumyina Mahmud.
