A Dhaka court has placed former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s energy adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury on a four-day remand in a case filed over the murder of one Sumon Sikdar with Badda police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider passed the remand order on Wednesday (September 11) as Sub-Inspector of Badda police station Rezaul Alam, also the investigation officer of the case, produced Tawfiq before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand in the case.
Detective branch (DB) of police arrested Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury from capital’s Gulshan area yesterday (September 10).
