Media Coordinator Of Banned Hizb ut-Tahrir Arrested

Imtiaz Selim (42), the media coordinator of the banned organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, has been arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC).

On Friday (October 4) morning, a unit from the CTTC conducted an operation in a residential area of Vatara police station and apprehended him.

He is facing a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Shahbag police station in the capital. Additionally, he is a named accused in two other cases at Pallabi and Khilgaon police stations.

It is worth noting that he has three other cases pending in court. He will be handed over to the court shortly, according to Muhammad Talebur Rahman, DC (Media and Public Relations) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
