Former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office and former Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Nojibur Rahman, has been arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) Police.
He was arrested in Dhaka last night, Sunday (October 6), as confirmed by the head of the Detective Police, Rezaul Karim Mallik.
Mallik stated that former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office and former NBR Chairman Nojibur Rahman has been taken into custody. He will be presented before the court today, Monday (October 7).
It is noteworthy that Nojibur Rahman was appointed as Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and Secretary of the Internal Resources Division in 2015. On December 31, 2017, he was appointed as the new Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Nojibur Rahman is an officer of the BCS Administration cadre from the 1982 batch. He hails from Chhatak in Sunamganj district.
