Wisden Names Shakib 2nd MVP of 21st Century ODI

Shakib Al Hasan has been named as the second-best cricketer of the 21st century in ODI cricket.

The Bangladeshi superstar was selected as one of the most important cricketers of the century by the renowned cricket magazine Wisden Cricket Monthly.

Shakib, one of the best all-rounders of the modern era, was also ranked six in Test cricket.

However, he missed out on a place in the top 20 of T20.

Wisden Cricket Monthly has drawn up a list of 'Most Valuable Player' or MVP in a collaborative analysis with Cricket Statistics Farm-Cricviz.

Sri Lanka's Muttia Muralitharan is number one on the test list. Former English cricketer Andrew Flintoff has been named the best cricketer in ODI cricket. Afghanistan's leg-spinner, Rashid Khan, has been ranked number one in the T20.

A lot has been taken into consideration in selecting the best cricketer of the century. How much impact the players have had in the match or how bad they have done, how much they have contributed, and so on.

Wisden Cricket Monthly said they didn't pick the right teams. In the opposite, at this period, they were able to pick the most 'influential' cricketers.

In light of all the criteria, the most influential player of the century has been selected on the basis of rating points.

Muralitharan, who had the most impact in the Tests, got the highest rating of 97.5 *. He is followed by India's Rabindra Jadeja (97.3), Australia's Steven Smith (91.7), Glenn McGrath (89.6), South Africa's Shaun Pollock (84.9), Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan (84.2), South Africa's Jacques Kallis (83.9) and India's Rabichandran Ashwin (83.9), Australia's Pat Cummins (83.3), Shane Warne (81.02).

On the other hand, Flintoff, who is the number one in ODIs, scored 21.3 rating points. Shakib, who is in the second position, has a rating point of 20.8. He was followed by Glenn McGrath (20.6), AB de Villiers (20.4), Ken Williamson (19.1), Virat Kohli (18.9), Shaun Pollock (17.1), Hashim Amla (17.1), Nathan Bracken of Australia (17.0) and Jacques Kallis (16.9).

Meanwhile, Rashid Khan was named the MVP in T20 with 7.1 points.
