BCB Announces Name of 5 Teams of Bangabandhu T20 Cup

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the name of the five teams in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup on Saturday.

The country's five major companies are funding five teams representing five divisions – Fortune Barishal, Beximco Dhaka, Minister Group Rajshahi, Gemcon Khulna and Gazi Group Chattogram, a press release from the BCB, reports BSS.

The player draft of the event, previously scheduled for November 11, will now be held on November 12.

Shakib and 112 other cricketers have been asked to report a fitness test to be carried out over two days — on November 9 and 10. The mandatory test will be administered to assess the fitness level of the players expected to compete in the next T20 tournament.

A total of 160 players will be assigned to the draft in four categories — A, B , C and D, confirmed by BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Akram Khan.

Akram informed the BCB is planning to kick-start the tournament on November 21 or 22.

“Probably we are going to fix the Players Draft on November 12. We have made a list of 160 players. Players will undergo a fitness test on November 9 and 10,” Akram Khan said here today.
