BFF, Clubs Sit Sunday to Decide BPL's Fate

The Professional Football League Committee of Bangladesh Football Federation will sit with the representing clubs of the Bangladesh Premier League in an emergency virtual meeting on Sunday to decide on resuming the second phase of the league.

PFLC Chairman and BFF Senior Vice-President Abdus Salam Murshedy told The Daily Sun that they want to finish the ongoing edition of the league, unlike last year when they had to abandon it.

''We don't want to abandon the league this year. We have already finished the first phase and now we must end the second phase,'' he said.

''Another thing is we have to give the participating clubs at least a week after the lockdown so that they can get back their players and can take a minimum preparation for the second phase,'' he added.

Dhaka Abahani Limited team manager Satyajit Das Rupu said that they want to get back in football soon.

“BFF will take the final decision but we hope to get back into football soon,” he added.

Meanwhile, the second players’ registration window was closed on Saturday which was earlier extended by a week.
