Nazmul Hasan Papon has been elected as the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the third time. Elections for the Bangladesh
Cricket Board began at 10am on Wednesday (October 6). The election process ends
at 5 pm. Where 19 people fought for 14 director posts.
The results were announced an hour and a half after the
election. Nazmul Hasan Papon has been selected from Category-2 i.e. Club
Category again.
The results showed that Papun got 53 votes from the club
category. His teammates are Gazi Golam Murtaza (Gazi Group Cricketers, 53
votes), Najib Ahmed (Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, 51 votes), Mahbub Anam
(Mohammedan Sporting Club, 47 votes), Obed Rashid Nizam (Shinepukur Club, 51
votes), Salauddin Chowdhury (Kakrail Boys, 49 votes), Ismail Haider Mallick
(Sheikh Jamal Cricketers, 52 votes), Enayet Hossain (Azad Sporting, 52 votes),
Manzur Hossain Quader (Dhaka Assets, 49 votes), and Manzur Alam (Asif Shifa
Cricket Academy) , 46 votes), Fahim Sinha (Suryatarun, 51 votes), Mithu (50
votes).
The final winners from Category-1 Dhaka Division are AM
Naimur Rahman Durjoy MP (Manikganj) and Tanvir Ahmed Titu (Narayanganj).
Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel is being selected unopposed in Sylhet category in
this category. Akram Khan and AJM Nasir were elected from Chattogram division.
Sheikh Sohail has become the director from Khulna
division. Kazi Inam Ahmed has become the representative of this department.
Alamgir Khan from Barisal division has been elected director again. Anwarul
Islam from Rangpur Division. Khaled Masood has become a pilot in the Rajshahi
division. After losing him, Saiful Alam Swapan became the director again.
Khaled Mahmud Sujan has won from category-3. The former
captain defeated cricket organizer Nazmul Abedin Fahim.
