Cricket Board (BCB) and jersey manufacturer Sports & Sports were garnering
praise by designing the jerseys for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia; but
less than a week after its unveiling, the jersey sparked a new controversy.
The
Tigers' jersey manufacturer Sports & Sports has been accused of faking the
World Cup jersey design. This year's World Cup jersey has been made by taking
down a picture of a Bengal tiger published on the Pinterest website in 2015 and
placing it in the jersey. However, even two days after receiving such a
complaint, the accused company did not comment on this matter.
Meanwhile,
the original picture on Pinterest has gone viral on the net, with which the
picture of the World Cup jersey is found to be identical. As the illegal use of
the design went viral on social media, all praises have now turned into
criticism and condemnation.
According
to the sports page Criccircle, jerseys are conscious, it's like a passion for them.
A jersey manufacturing company is playing on this passion of Bangladeshi
cricket fans. They stole the design. The jersey maker has fooled the BCB, the
media, and the fans.
A
few days ago, the Bangladeshi jersey with the image of the Royal Bengal Tiger's
face and the traditional Jamdani, which came out of the Sundarbans Golpata, got
quite a response from the audience.
