Bangladesh
national cricket team pacer Al-Amin Hossain has claimed in the court that he
has given divorce notice to his wife Israt Jahan.
He
claimed this while submitting the answer to the case in the court of Dhaka
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain on Thursday (October
06).
On
this day, the day of the hearing was fixed in the case. Al Amin appeared in court
and filed a reply through a lawyer.
In
response, he mentioned that he had given a divorce notice to his wife on August
25. He is willing to pay denmohor and maintenance. And he is regularly paying
the expenses of two children.
However,
the plaintiff's lawyer Md Shamsuzzaman said, we have filed a case to demand
maintenance and peaceful family life. Now Al Amin is saying that he divorced
the plaintiff. But he did not submit any documents to that effect. He said he
is supporting two sons. But we have evidence that the elder son's school
tuition fee is 50 thousand taka.
The
court fixed the reply for a hearing after 5 days.
Earlier
on September 27, Al Amin surrendered to the case filed by his wife Israt Jahan
and got bail. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin granted his bail.
Before
this, wife Israt Jahan filed this case against Al Amin on September 7, claiming
to live peacefully together and monthly maintenance and children's expenses.
The case was charged under section 15(1) (a) (b) (c)/16(5) (6) of the Domestic
Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act 2010 and Rules 2013.
After
taking the plaintiff's statement, the court took cognizance of the case and
summoned Al Amin to appear on September 27.
According
to the case, Israt Jahan and Al Amin were married on December 26, 2012, according to Islamic Sharia. They have two sons. The elder son is studying at
KG in Mirpur Cantonment Public School and College in English version. For quite
some time, Al Amin does not support his wife and children and avoids them
without seeking them and does not contact them.
It
is also said that Al Amin came to his house around 10:30 pm on August 25 and
demanded Tk. 2 million for dowry from his wife. When Israt Jahan refused to pay
the money, Al Amin kicked her and injured her in different parts of her body
and told her that he would not marry her. Israt Jahan called 999 for help and
the police came and rescued her. Israt Jahan was treated at Suhrawardy Medical
College Hospital. A case was also filed in Mirpur Model Police Station on
September 1 in this incident.
Last
September 3, Al Amin told through his mother that he will no longer be with Israt
and will not support the children. He did this because of his addiction to adultery
and sent a picture of himself with a woman to Israt.
It
is said in the case that Al Amin said that he would take his wife and children
out of the house and get married elsewhere. For two years the accused did not take
care the plaintiff and did not stay at home regularly. Because of this, Israt
filed the case demanding monthly maintenance along with the right to live
peacefully in the homestead along with her two children. It is said in the case
that Al Amin is entitled to receive 40,000 taka per month for living,
maintenance of two children and 60,000 taka for education in English medium.
