Bangladesh emerged as the champions of the SAFF U-20 tournament by defeating Nepal 4-1 in the final held today in Kathmandu.
In the final match at Nepal's ANFA Complex on Wednesday, August 26, Bangladesh secured their victory with a 4-1 scoreline.
This is the first time Bangladesh has won the championship in this tournament's format.
Bangladesh took the lead with a goal from Mirajul in added time of the first half. In the second half, goals from Mirajul and Rahul extended Bangladesh's lead to 3-0 by the 70th minute. Nepal managed to score a goal in the 80th minute, but after 90 minutes of regular play, the referee added 10 minutes of injury time. During this period, Nepal's attempts to score only led to an additional goal for Bangladesh, sealing their 4-1 victory.
