Chief Adviser Calls Tiger Captain After Historic Test Victory

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus called national cricket team captain Najmul Hossain Shanto on Tuesday to congratulate him and the team on their historic Test series victory over Pakistan.

“Heartiest congratulations on behalf of the government and myself. The whole nation is proud of you,” the Chief Adviser told Shanto over the phone moments after Bangladesh's six-wicket victory in the second Test in Rawalpindi, completing a 2-0 clean sweep in the series.

He said that the Bangladesh team would be honoured with a reception upon their return home.
