Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud stated, “The Chief Advisor patiently listened to the various issues faced by the women footballers and requested them to submit these concerns in writing so we can address them promptly. There was an in-depth discussion on the challenges faced by the women footballers.”

He made these remarks today, Saturday (November 2), following a reception held by the Chief Advisor for the SAFF-winning women’s football team.

Asif Mahmud further mentioned, “The women footballers presented the Chief Advisor with jerseys and a football signed by all team members. We, along with the Chief Advisor, shared breakfast with the team.”

Earlier, at around 11:00 AM, the Chief Advisor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, welcomed the victorious women’s football team.

After winning the SAFF Women’s Championship 2024 in Nepal, the Bangladesh women’s football team returned home last Thursday. At the BFF headquarters, Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan welcomed the SAFF champions. Before this, the team traveled from the airport to the BFF headquarters in an open-top bus.

Following the welcome, the Youth and Sports Advisor announced a financial reward on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The government awarded the victorious team a total of 10 million BDT (1 crore). The Youth and Sports Advisor immediately handed over the prize check to team captain Sabina Khatun.
