Shakib Al Hasan’s Bank Accounts Frozen

The bank accounts of Bangladesh cricket all-rounder also Magur-1 former lawmaker Shakib Al Hasan and his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir, have been frozen.

A senior official of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) of Bangladesh Bank confirmed the matter on Wednesday (November 6).

According to the BFIU, all transactions on the suspended person and their privately owned business accounts will be suspended. The account holders will not be able to make any kind of financial transactions for the next 30 days. If necessary, this period of suspension will be extended.

Earlier on October 2, the BFIU had instructed banks to provide account details of Shakib, his wife.

Shakib is currently in the United States with his family. Notably, the all-rounder has announced his retirement from Tests and T20Is recently.
