The South Asian
Telecommunications Regulatory Council (SATRC) has elected Bangladesh as its
Chairman.
The decision was
made at the 22nd meeting of the South Asian Telecommunications Regulatory
Council (November 1-3), which was overseen by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity
(APT).
The Bangladesh Telecommunications
Regulatory Commission (BTRC) declared in a press statement on Wednesday that
(November 3).
The meeting was attended by chiefs and top officials from nine countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran.
BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder represented Bangladesh in various sessions of the three-day virtual meeting.
At the second day meeting of the council and the 23rd meeting, BTRC chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder was elected vice-chairman of SATRC for the current term and chairman of the organization for the 2023 term.
