Google has been handed a mammoth 2 undecillion rubles ($2.5 decillion) worth of fines in Russia after it removed state-run and pro-government accounts from YouTube.

The gigantic figure, which is far greater than the world's total GDP, contains 36 zeros. Put another way, an undecillion is a trillion times a trillion times a trillion.

Google, which owns YouTube, has a current stock market value of $2.16 trillion and is unlikely to stump up the cash anytime soon.

According to state news outlet TASS, the fine is also increasing due to nonpayment and, if not paid within nine months, will begin to double every day.

The staggering number has climbed because Google has yet to restore YouTube accounts belonging to 17 Russian TV channels, reported Russia's RBC News.

Google can reportedly only return to the Russian market if it follows the court's ruling.

The case was first launched privately in 2020, after the Tsargrad TV channel and RIA FAN's accounts were disabled owing to US sanctions regulations, according to RBC.
