COVID-19: Global Death Toll Climbs to 846,778

According to latest worldometer data, the novel coronavirus has killed 846,778 people in the 213 countries and territories since the virus originated in China's Wuhan last December. 

So far, 25,169,549 people have been identified with coronavirus worldwide at 10:30 am till Sunday (04:30 GMT).

Of them, 17,509,305 patients have been considered recovered, the source said.

Apart from this, the number of active cases are 6,813,466.

With the fresh tally in the 24-hour, 5,446 people died from COVID-19 while 257,378 infections have been diagnosed, and 208,739 patients have made full recovery.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has risen up to 186,855 deaths, followed by Brazil with 120,498; Mexico 63,819; India 63,657; Italy 35,473; France 30,602; Iran 21,359; Russia 17,025; Indonesia 7,261; Iraq 6,891; Pakistan 6,284; China 4,634; Bangladesh 4,206; Saudi Arabia 3,840; UAE 379 and Malaysia 125 respectively, worldometer reported.
