Israel is facing widespread international condemnation due to the escalating death toll and severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Over 900,000 Palestinians have been displaced within two weeks, now lacking necessities such as shelter, food, water, and medicine.
Israeli tanks and troops have advanced in southeastern Rafah, nearing the densely populated western district while maintaining operations in three eastern suburbs, with Palestinian fighters strongly resisting the ground assault.
The last two operational hospitals in northern Gaza's Jabalia region are under prolonged siege, with Israeli forces targeting these vital health facilities using artillery and small-arms fire.
UNICEF's executive director, Catherine Russell, expressed deep concern over the dire situation for children in Gaza, who are suffering greatly due to blocked aid routes and intensified military actions in Rafah and other areas.
Since October 7, Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in at least 35,800 deaths and 80,011 injuries. The attack by Hamas on October 7 has caused 1,139 fatalities in Israel, with dozens of individuals still being held captive.
