Met Office Forecasts Rainfall across the Country

The country may see light to moderate rain or thundershowers throughout the course of 24 hours beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met Office forecast on Friday.

A mild heat wave is currently affecting the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Chuadanga, Kishoreganj, and Moulvibazar in the Rangpur division. In some locations, the heat wave may eventually abate.

Temperatures may drop a little bit nationwide during the day and at night.

The low lying over Northwest Bay and the surrounding area is currently over Odisha's northwest coast. The center of the monsoon low is in Assam, while the axis of the trough passes through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, and the southern portion of Bangladesh.

Over North Bay, the monsoon is mild elsewhere and less active over Bangladesh.

The country's highest temperature was 37.5° on Thursday in Rajshahi, and its lowest temperature was 25.5° today in Bandarban.

At Nikli, 29mm of the maximum rainfall for the previous day up until 6am on Friday was noted.
