The world's most filthy air is no longer found in Dhaka. 'Moderate' air quality was still present in the city on Saturday morning.

At 9:01 am, Dhaka had an air quality index (AQI) score of 67, placing it as the 18th worst city in the world.

The top three cities on the list were Delhi in India, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, and Jakarta in Indonesia, with AQI scores of 157, 126, and 110, respectively.

An acceptable level of'moderate' air quality is defined as an AQI score between 50 and 100. A very tiny percentage of persons who are highly sensitive to air pollution, however, may have health concerns.

Between 150 and 200 is deemed "unhealthy," 201 and 300 is deemed "very unhealthy," and a reading of 301 or more is deemed "hazardous," offering significant health hazards to locals.

Particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), NO2, CO, SO2, and ozone are the five criterion pollutants on which Bangladesh's air quality index (AQI) is based.

Air pollution has always been a problem in Dhaka. Usually, the winter is when the air quality becomes bad, and the monsoon is when it gets better.

One of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide continues to be air pollution.

As per the World Health Organization (WHO), air pollution kills an estimated seven million people worldwide every year.
