As of this morning, Dhaka's air quality was deemed "unhealthy for sensitive groups."

At 10:21 am, Dhaka's air quality index (AQI) score of 123 put it sixth out of the world's cities with the worst air quality, according to IQAir.

With AQI scores of 527, 164, and 158, respectively, the top three cities on the list were Doha in Qatar, Jakarta in Indonesia, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

An air quality index (AQI) of 50 to 100 is considered to be "moderate." However, a very small proportion of people who are extremely sensitive to air pollution may experience health issues.

Between 101 and 150 AQI readings are deemed "unhealthy," between 201 and 300 AQI readings are deemed "very unhealthy," while readings of 301 or more are deemed "hazardous," offering significant health hazards to locals.

Particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), NO2, CO, SO2, and ozone are the five criterion pollutants on which Bangladesh's air quality index (AQI) is based.

Air pollution has always been a problem in Dhaka. Usually, the winter is when the air quality becomes bad, and the monsoon is when it gets better.
