Thunderstorms Likely As Met Office Warns Of Increasing Heat

The mercury has started to rise, indicating an increase in temperature, and the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has hinted at the possibility of thunderstorms, including lightning.

It has been forecasted that from 6 p.m. yesterday (March 11) to the next 72 hours, the premonition of weather suggests that there is a mild low pressure in the South Bay of Bengal. In this situation, until Tuesday evening, partially cloudy skies may prevail temporarily across the country. The temperature during the day and night may experience a slight increase throughout the country.

Furthermore, tonight (March 12) from 6 p.m. onwards for the next 24 hours, the daytime temperature across the country may experience a slight increase, and the nighttime temperature may rise by one to two degrees Celsius.

In addition, the forecast suggests that from Wednesday evening (March 13) for the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of rain or thunderstorms with lightning in the Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions, including the regions of Comilla and Noakhali. Apart from this, partially cloudy skies may prevail temporarily across the country. The temperature during the day and night may remain mostly unchanged.

In the next five days, the temperature during the day and night may further increase.
