Heat Waves May Occur In More Regions Today

From the first day of April, the hottest month of the year, mild to moderate heat waves are sweeping over different parts of the country. This heat wave is unlikely to stop soon. According to the Meteorological Department, heat waves in three divisions may occur today and Wednesday. However, the temperature has dropped slightly compared to the previous day on Tuesday. The weather forecast says that the temperature will increase again tomorrow on Thursday.

As heat waves increase, the amount of moisture in the air increases. Due to excessive moisture excursion, the discomfort may increase, the Meteorological Department said. In this condition, people sweat a lot. Regardless of the temperature, the feeling of heat is very high.

According to the forecast given by the Meteorological Department yesterday evening, a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions. This heat wave may continue. And it can spread further.

If the temperature is between 36 and 37.9 degrees Celsius, it is called a mild to moderate heat wave.

Yesterday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at Chuadanga, 38.7 degrees Celsius. Mongla and Ishurdi recorded the highest temperature in the country on Monday at 39 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded in Dhaka yesterday was 36.5 degrees Celsius. The previous day, Monday, the temperature of the capital was 37.7 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologist of the Department of Meteorology Bajlur Rashid said that the temperature on Wednesday may be the same as on Tuesday. But the temperature may rise again tomorrow Thursday.

The average maximum temperature of the country in April is 33.2 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department publishes the weather conditions of 44 stations in the country every day. Out of these 44 stations, 33 stations recorded temperatures above 33 degrees Celsius yesterday.

The Meteorological Office has predicted rain in two parts of the two divisions amid this severe heat. They said that even today two places in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience temporary gusts of rain or rain with thunder. Along with this, there may be hailstorm in some places. Apart from this, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.

At the beginning of every month, the Meteorological Department releases the long-range forecast for that month. According to the forecast for April, there is a possibility of less rain than normal in this month. The Meteorological Department has also said that one to three days of severe Kalbaisakhi is likely in this month. Apart from this, there is a possibility of one or two depressions over the Bay of Bengal. One of these may also take the form of a cyclone.
